Annual General Meeting 2023 Results

The ACSOBA AGM 2023 concluded successfully on 31 with 129 ACSOBA members in attendance.

The newly elected office bearers for 2023/2024 are:

First Vice President – Mr David Tan Hsien Yung
Honorary Secretary – Mr Chua Yu-Jin
Honorary Assistant Treasurer – Mr Alvin Tan Chin Yeow
Management Committee Members – Mr Timothy Chew, Mr Glenn David Foo Chuen-Shao and Mr Kam Kok Heun Andrew

In addition, the motion put forth by members to appoint a committee to be led by Mr Victor Chia to seek alumni’s views on the setting up for ACS (Primary) at Tengah and to study the proposal of this being the third primary school for ACS, was carried.

The ACSOBA Management Committee looks forward to serving all ACSians and the ACS Family in the coming year.

Dear ACSOBA Members

Please be informed that, as at 5:00pm, 24 March 2023, at the end of the nomination period, the only post that will undergo election is for “1^st Vice President’. The contest for this post will be between David Tan Hsien Yung (5122) and Tang Kee Fei (2915). The other posts have returned unopposed.

We have also received two motions, in accordance with the requirements under the Constitution, for deliberation and decision by the meeting besides the other agenda items listed in the notice for the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Please note that these will be tabled under the “Any Other Business” item in the agenda of the AGM.

Motions Proposed

1. To know what information / facts were provided to the OBA Management Committee prior to the OBA Management Committee making any decisions on the move by ACS (Primary) to Tengah. What were the various deliberations by the OBA Management Committee and what were the outcome of the vote at the OBA Management Committee and by the OBA representatives at the BOG meeting; and
    
2. To appoint a committee to be headed by Mr Victor Chia to seek alumni’s views on the setting up of ACS (Primary) at Tengah and to study the proposal of this being the third primary school for ACS.

The AGM will be held physically this year. It will not be possible to attend the AGM virtually or remotely. The meeting proceedings will not be live streamed or broadcasted.

The Agenda for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is as follows: -

1. Opening prayer;
2. To receive and adopt the minutes of the last AGM held on 25 March 2022;
3. To receive Reports from the Principals of the ACS Schools;
4. To receive the Management Committee’s Annual Report for 2022;
5. To pass the audited Financial Statements for the financial year ended 31 December 2022;
6. To authorize the Management Committee to appoint an Auditor for FY2023 and to determine their remuneration;
7. To elect the members for the 2023/2024 ACSOBA Management Committee (Voting for the post of 1^st Vice President);
8. To discuss Any Other Business (As above);
9. Closing prayer.

At the end of the nomination period, there is only one post that will undergo election.
